A yacht of fun!

Imagine being under sail with your besties as you depart for a lovely cruise around the San Francisco Bay as the sun sets slowly over the horizon. Sigh!

Well, Captain Rob and the Hawks Nest, a 41’ sailing yacht, will make those dreams come true and for far less cost than you might think. Each sailing is a private adventure for up to six people. The wind and captain determine the route, which may take you under the Golden Gate, along the San Francisco waterfront, around Alcatraz or up the Raccoon Straights. Three hours of luxurious bliss with every detail handled by the crew of the Hawks Nest. It’s perfect for a celebration, engagement, elopement, ash scattering, birthdays and anniversaries.

Along the way, you may see seals, sea lions, pelicans and other sea life. You can take the helm, raise the mainsail or simply relax and watch the world go by on your very own yacht for the day.

The Hawks Nest is based in and only sails out of Tiburon and is professionally maintained and adheres to the highest U.S. Coast Guard safety standards and is thoroughly cleaned between sailings. You won’t end up on a desert isle with the Professor and Mary Ann.

Beverages are included in charter weekend sails, including white wine, beer, soda and water. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages, but nothing red or purple (Bloody Mary Mix, wine, etc.) as it could stain the furnishings.

Standard charters are three hours. The special rate for residents of Parkmerced is $95 per person on weekends (including beverages) and $75 per person weekdays (BYOB). The rack rate is $125 per person. The minimum booking is for four, and you need to provide a $200 deposit at the time of booking to lock in your reservation. If the weather isn’t safe or enjoyable for sailing, your cruise may be canceled or rescheduled.

On the day of your charter, show up at the dock about 10 minutes early for a quick orientation. Bring along a wind resistant jacket and wear comfortable shoes, preferably with non-marking soles. If you have a hat, make sure it has a drawstring, so it doesn’t get blown away in a stiff breeze.
